Overview
Haywire Software provides SVG Line Tracer, a Chrome extension that converts selected images into SVG paths. We designed the extension to process artwork locally and collect as little information as practical.
Image and website content
When you explicitly choose "Trace image to SVG," the extension captures the selected visible image so it can perform the requested trace. The image, page title, source URL, and generated SVG are processed and stored locally in your browser. Haywire Software does not receive or store your source image, page content, browsing history, or generated SVG.
Licensing information
The extension creates a random installation identifier. It sends that identifier to haywiresoftware.com only to check Pro entitlement, start Checkout, and open subscription management. The identifier is not used to follow your browsing activity.
Payments
Stripe processes subscription payments. Stripe may collect your name, email address, billing address, payment method, tax information, and transaction details under Stripe's own privacy terms. Haywire receives customer, subscription, invoice, and payment-status information needed to provide and support Pro access. Haywire does not receive your full card number.
Website advertising measurement
Haywire uses the Google Ads tag and Meta Pixel on haywiresoftware.com to understand whether an advertisement leads to a visit to the SVG Line Tracer listing in the Chrome Web Store. When you allow measurement, Google and Meta may receive cookies or advertising identifiers, device and browser information, referral and campaign information, the page you visited on haywiresoftware.com, and the Store-link conversion event for measurement and attribution. Google may also receive the Google Click ID. Meta may use this information to measure and improve advertising under Meta's own privacy terms. Haywire does not send source images, generated SVGs, extension browsing activity, or payment details in these events.
Measurement is denied by default. The Meta Pixel does not load unless you allow measurement. Google advertising storage and analytics storage are also denied until you allow measurement, while Google ad-user-data use and ad personalization remain denied. You can change your choice using the "Measurement choices" control displayed on the site.
Embedded video
The SVG Line Tracer product page includes a YouTube video using YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed mode. YouTube may receive your IP address, device and browser information, and interaction data when the player loads or you play the video, subject to Google's privacy terms. The embedded player does not receive source images, generated SVGs, extension browsing activity, or payment details.
Retention and sharing
The temporary image capture is deleted from extension storage after it loads in the tracer. Your installation identifier, cached plan status, and daily export count remain on your device until replaced, cleared, or the extension is removed. Licensing records are retained while your subscription or support relationship is active and as reasonably needed for accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal obligations. We share data with Stripe only for billing, with Google and Meta only for consent-controlled website advertising measurement, and with infrastructure providers only as needed to operate the service.
Your choices
You can use the Free plan without giving Haywire an email address. You can clear extension storage by removing the extension. To request access, correction, or deletion of billing and licensing records, contact support@haywiresoftware.com.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Haywire does not sell extension user data, use it for personalized advertising, or allow humans to read captured image content except when you provide specific content for support and consent to that review.
